The Synthetic Biology Consortium was formed as a place for researchers and stake holders interested in the synthetic biology field to interact and share ideas with each other, as well as to facilitate bringing synthetic biology researchers to the NIH.

Background

In 2019, the Synthetic Biology Consortium (SBC) was formed as a result from interest from Program Staff from 11 NIH Institutes/Centers and the Office of the NIH Director. The NIH SBC hosts an annual meeting that is open to the public. The annual meeting summaries and videos and other NIH led synthetic biology workshops are linked below under the Historical Synthetic Biology Workshops section.

Teaming Users with Developers: NHLBI has several heart, lung, blood, and sleep (HLBS)-focused opportunities and obstacles, and an interest in technologically-based solutions to disease and improved health. This workshop intends to continue bringing these fields together to address HLBS disorders and better understand HLBS molecular mechanisms driving development, regeneration, and pathophysiology through synthetic biology.
