Jermont is a Program Officer in NIBIB's Division of Discovery Science and Technology (Bioengineering) and joined the NIH in June of 2022. Jermont received his B.S. in Biochemistry from the United States Air Force Academy (1994), M.S. in Chemistry from the University of Oklahoma (2003), and Ph.D. in Chemistry from Princeton University (2008). His graduate work focused on identifying, characterizing and testing aggregation inhibitor for amyloid beta aggregation as well as characterizing Alzheimer's peptide mutants that were more or less aggregating. From 2016 – 2022, Jermont was an International Program Officer for the Air Force Office of Scientific Research, Air Force Research Laboratory, where he identified and funded basic research projects in technical areas of interest to the United States Air Force in the Asia and Australia region.
