This funding opportunity announcement is specifically and exclusively designed for use with PAR-12-085 and PAR-15-167 "NIBIB Research Education Programs for Residents and Clinical Fellows". The goal of this research education program is to facilitate the ability of dedicated, outstanding physician-scientists in Radiology and other NIBIB-relevant specialties, including, but not limited to, cardiology, neurology, oncology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, or surgery, to develop into independently funded researchers who will conduct highly impactful research within the NIBIB mission.
The purpose of administrative supplements to this R25 program is to identify and support new and continuing program participants in the out-years of active NIBIB Research Education Programs for Residents and Clinical Fellows awards. Specifically, these supplements will allow additional participants to develop research projects, receive research education, and obtain the preliminary data needed for them to successfully compete for future mentored career development (K) and research awards. All research areas within the NIBIB mission, including basic, clinical and translational approaches, are eligible for support.
