
Megan Poorman, Ph.D., is a Program Director at the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB). She brings experience in research and development across academia, industry, and federal labs. Dr. Poorman received her Ph.D. from Vanderbilt University specializing in image-guided therapies. While there, she completed a surgical rotation in Interventional Radiology. She followed this with a postdoctoral fellowship at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) where she worked on quantitative metrics for magnetic resonance imaging. Prior to joining NIBIB, Dr. Poorman was a Senior Clinical Scientist for a start-up medical device company where she led efforts to identify clinical opportunities, develop research partnerships, and generate data for regulatory submissions.
