Biography

Karen R. Olsen received her Ph.D. in chemistry with a focus in biochemistry from Purdue University in 2016. As a scientific communicator, she translates complex and technical material that articulates and explains novel research findings for dissemination to a wide variety of audiences. Prior to joining NIBIB, she worked as a science writer at the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), where she facilitated the communication of cancer research advances to both the lay public and the trade press.
