Afrouz Azari Anderson

Biography

Afrouz Anderson is a program director at the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB). She received her Ph.D. in biomedical engineering from the University of California, Davis and NIH and completed her postdoctoral degree at the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD). She has experience in several aspects of biomedical and imaging research during work for industry and within the non-profit and health care sectors focusing on translational biophotonics and utilization of multi‐modality imaging in clinical populations. In her current role at NIBIB, she oversees research activities in the field of biophotonics, develops inter-agency initiatives related to biomedical imaging, and manages the optical imaging and spectroscopy portfolio.
